We all experience trauma in one form or another. It may be at the hands of an abuser, a relationship breakup, a health diagnosis, or the death of a loved one. No one is immune. Dr. James Gordon joins Joan to offer a comprehensive, evidence based program for reversing the biological and psychological damage resulting from trauma, and he teaches how to learn from and grow through its challenges.
Dr. Gordon is a Harvard-educated psychiatrist, former researcher at the National Institute of Mental Health, and chair of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. He a clinical professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine at Georgetown Medical School, and is the founder and executive director of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, D.C. He has traveled the globe to bring help and healing to survivors of wars, mass shootings, and disasters, and has served as an expert for 60 Minutes, Today, Good Morning America, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, among others. He is the author of the book, The Transformation: Discovering Wholeness and Healing After Trauma.
